Illinois - and our nation - face an unprecedented peril. Now more than ever, we need experienced, principled leadership to defend our democracy and our hard-won rights.

Our civil rights, voting rights, workers’ rights and environmental protections are under siege by the Trump Administration. Our next Illinois Attorney General must be experienced and qualified enough to stand against these unconstitutional attacks on our rights and well-being.

The attorney general is tasked with protecting our environment, seniors, consumers, students, working families, and the rights of women, communities of color, immigrants, and our LGBT community.

Illinois needs experienced, principled leadership to address the serious challenges facing our state and nation.

As an attorney, Sharon Fairley has only served the public. She was as an assistant attorney general and federal prosecutor and worked on a broad array of criminal matters including narcotics and firearms trafficking, violent crimes, financial crimes, complex fraud, counter-terrorism and counter-espionage cases.

As the chief administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability and its predecessor agency, Sharon gained valuable expertise in police reform and police accountability and built a complex legal agency from the ground up.

This experience and her record of independence from political leaders have earned her the endorsement of seven of the state's largest newspapers, including the Chicago Sun-TimesChicago TribuneDaily HeraldPeoria Journal StarRock Island Dispatch-ArgusState Journal Register, and Rockford Register Star.
